FastPak for Java System Requirements and Availability

FastPak for Java requires the use of Java versions 1.4 and greater. All commercially licensed versions of the product come with FasPak versions compiled with Java development kits 1.4, 1.5, and 1.6, for Windows and Linux opeating systems, and 1.4 and 1.5 for OS X. SCSC strongly recommends using the versions of FastPak associated with the latest version of Java available for each platform.

FastPak does not require any specific system requirements other than those required by normal Java application use. The appropriate Java virtual machine (JVM) must be installed for the corresponding version of FastPak on your systems. FastPak can launch older Java based applications with old JVMs as native applications.

If multiple instances of FastPak are to be used on a single system under a networked environment via FastPak's Controller Thread, each instance much be assigned a unique network port number that does not conflict with other running instances of FastPak or other applications that are, or may be brought on line. If multiple instances of FastPak are run with the Controller Thread disabled, this requirement does not apply.
